Spanish for real life in Barcelona
Practical, well-structured lessons for international professionals who want to handle work, paperwork and everyday life in Spanish, with confidence.
The lessons
Built around your needs, not around a textbook
You can get by in Barcelona on English for a while. But eventually there are things you'd rather handle yourself, like a phone call or a conversation with a neighbour. We start by finding out which matter most to you.
From there, every lesson is built around one real situation and ends in the conversation itself. The plan keeps adjusting as your needs do, so lesson by lesson, more of your life here happens in Spanish.
How a lesson works
-
The week behind you
We begin with the thing you set out to do in Spanish after the last lesson: how it went, what worked and where it came apart.
-
The language you will need
A short model conversation for the situation of the day, and the words, structures and set phrases it actually calls for.
-
Practice, then a role play
Guided practice until it comes out without thinking. Then we play the situation out several times, with something different in each round.
-
The week ahead
You leave with one small, specific thing to do in Spanish before we meet again. That is where most of the progress happens.
Where
Near Maragall, or wherever suits you
My usual teaching location is near Maragall metro station (L4/L5). I can also come to your home or another agreed place in Barcelona for an additional €10 per lesson.
When
Around your working day
Lessons are generally available around lunchtime, in the afternoon and at weekends, subject to availability.
Prices
One lesson, your own private group
You choose who you learn with: come on your own, or form a group with your partner, friends or colleagues. The more of you there are, the less each person pays.
| 1 person | €42 |
|---|---|
| 2 people | €64€32 per person |
| 3 people | €75€25 per person |
| 4 people | €84€21 per person |
Final prices, based on the number of students attending. Groups are formed by the students themselves; I do not combine students who do not know each other.
